Zwiebelkuchen (onion cake)



This is a very delicious German dish my husband baked. I watched the whole process,its quite easy to prepare. Its a good dish to take to a potluck.





Ingredients

200 g flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 egg yolk
100 g butter or margarine
2 tablespoons water, cold
1 kg onion (s), sliced
250 g bacon
3 Egg (s)
50 g flour
1 cup sour cream
Salt and pepper
Nutmeg, grated


Preparation

1.Chop up and sauté the onions





2. Add sauntered onions to 250 grams diced bacon, mixed with 3 beaten eggs and 50 g flour.







3.Use 200 g of flour, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 egg yolk, 100 g butter or margarine, 2 tablespoons. cold water to prepare the dough and spread on baking sheet.


4.Add the sour cream, salt, pepper and nutmeg and mix with the onion mass and spread on the dough




5. bake at 200 ° for about 60 minutes or when crust is golden brown
