Semelknödel

Semelknödel is a German dish, one of my husband's favourites. Its often served with roast pork or roast beef. But we mostly serve it with mushroom cream sauce. Hope you enjoy it when you try it.







Ingredients
1/3 Bread Preferably old bread thats begining to dry up)
1 Cup Milk
1 Onion
2 Gloves of Garlic
2 Eggs
1 Teaspoon Parsley
2 Teaspoons of oil or Butter
Salt to taste
A pinch of Black Pepper

1. Crumble bread or bread till its fine; add salt, parsley ,black pepper and pour warm milk over. Let set 8 to 10 minutes, covered. 



2. Cut the onions and garlic fine and saute in oil or butter. 


3.Pour over crumbled bread . Add eggs; mix all ingredients well with hands.










4. Form dumplings, rolling them firmly onto cling film and 
  further roll them onto kitchen foil 





            




6.Place in hot water and allow to boil until dumplings are cooked through



Serve with mushroom cream sauce or sauce of your choice
